gweike cloud MADNESS Bundles
And some kind of madness has started to evolve
My experience has been that tech support has been very responsive anytime I've had issues. T here was a learning curve for me but I love the machine.
I purchased this laser to replace a cheap 40w Chinese laser I was having LOTS of problems with and I must say I am impressed. The features on this unit are worth the extra cash. And in reality this unit is MUCH cheaper than other competitors. I initially had an issue with the unit when it arrived and the seller was very quick to respond and help me
The machine has performed better than expected. I have been engraving names and doing glass etching and it has done a very good job. The software is adequate but could be better. Delivery was sooner than expected and setup was no problem thanks to some You Tube videos I had watched. Instructions are in broken English which makes them a little tough to understand, hence the videos. It's a good starter machine to learn on and I would buy it again.
Absolutely worth it for its price and features. There is no other 50w desktop-class laser at this pricepoint. Feel free to compare yourself. Ive compared it with Glowforge (i wouldnt touch this proprietary machine with a 10foot pole), Aeon, Thunder, xTool, Muse, Flux, Omtech etc. The only one that comes close is OMTech's MF-1220 but its size is prohibitive in my workspace as well as requiring another separate water chiller. The Gweike is also practically plug and play. OMtech's requires user tinkering. -Process from purchasing and shipping and to my door was relatively fast. After a week of no tracking number provided i was finally provided one and the unit came a week after that. They have 2 warehouses it seems in the USA, one on each coast. If the unit is in stock at one of these locations, i assume shipping will be rather fast. -Machine is excellent at cutting. Not much really to say to that. 3mm birch ply/acrylic/MDF are a breeze. 6mm birch takes a bit more power and slower speed. 6mm MDF is no problem. -Support is instant as long as the engineers are awake in China so know the timezones. Some words can be lost in translation but be patient and keep pressing or rephrasing until they get it. Use pics to supplement what you want to convey. Join the Gweike VIP facebook group for peer-to-peer support. -Laser comes with 2 types of software: Gweike cloud as well as Gweike offline. You can also use lightburn (ruida) which i personally use but you will need to buy that separately. Gweike cloud is very basic but works. Gweike offline is a rather crude version of lightburn if even at that. -Air assist compressor is not built into the main machine but contained in the air filter box that they give you for "free." You can connect your own compressor if you want and forgo the air filter box (if you dont want to filter the air) -Gweike also runs a few events here and there which allows you to gain points ($1 for 1 point) that you can redeem for cash or anything in their store which could help bring down the overall price of the machine. I do not know how long these events will last. And if their store currently seems sparse at the time of writing this review, it's because they are still ramping up business and getting units out to customers. I assume there will be more things offered for purchase in the future. -Machine is rather loud. You can reduce the noise if you do not use the air filter box (there is a fan in there) and remove the fan in the back of the machine if you have your own inline exhaust fan. -Exhaust fumes was my only issue as the unit isnt fully sealed towards the back where the top lid meets the body of the laser as well as the air filter box inlet and exit holes being a bit too small for the flex piping. Find me on youtube and Gweike's VIP facebook group for how i resolved those. I also recommend using metal rigid piping or at minimum the PVC wrapped aluminum flex pipe to reduce the chance of "micro pores" that may allow fujmes to seep out. Find me on youtube and Gweike's VIP facebook group. As long as this machine and support remains reliable I will continue to be a staunch supporter.
